As it is summer, we have had the windows and doors open in our house this morning. A sparrow flew inside, but - of course - could not leave as easily! She flew around the house for about five miutes bashing her tiny head against the windows. Being such a kind, generous, helpful (and modest! HAHAHsorry...) person, I decided to help the silly bird get out. It was not very difficult, as she had hit her head so many times that she eventually fell onto the floor, completely stunned. I picked her up, took her outside and opened my hand to let her go, but she was still stunned and just sat there looking around with a dazed expression on her face. I sat down and stroked her for about three minutes before she took off, flew up across the garden...
...and promptly crashed into the fence.
I climbed up the bank to the fence and picked her up again. She sat perched on my finger for another minute or so before lying away only about a metre and landing on the fence. She clutched it with her tiny feet and stayed there for almost ten minutes with that same dazed expression on her face before remembering that she was a bird and flying away.
